Switching GLP-1 providers: records, refills and billing

Plan the commercial handoff and ask your clinicians about continuity without assuming a prescription or subscription transfers automatically.

Confirm that the destination accepts new patients

Check current service availability, your state and the product under consideration before canceling an existing arrangement. The name on an older review may still appear in search after the service model changes. A working website is not sufficient evidence that enrollment or refills remain available.

A concrete example: Levity’s transition

Levity’s official notice says it stopped new and repeat subscription orders in September 2026 and is moving customers toward ZipHealth. It says existing Levity subscriptions were canceled, while ZipHealth requires a new consultation and a one-time order rather than a transferred subscription. Readers should confirm their own account and billing records with the service.

Prepare records for the new clinician

Ask the new practice which records it needs and how to transfer them securely. Keep the exact prescription and treatment history available to your clinicians, along with questions about follow-up. Do not enter these details into a public comparison tool. The receiving clinician must make an independent decision; a past prescription does not guarantee a new one.

Plan continuity before changing payments

Ask the current and prospective care teams how any gap, delivery delay or change in treatment should be managed. Do not use a commercial review to select a replacement dose or restart schedule. The website’s enrollment process and the clinical handoff are separate; completing a purchase does not guarantee immediate treatment access.

Close the old commercial arrangement carefully

Find the renewal date, cancellation cutoff and status of any medication order already processing. Request written confirmation and keep receipts. If there are separate platform, pharmacy or financing agreements, ask each relevant party what continues. A cancellation of future billing does not automatically reverse a completed order.

Compare the first payment and the ongoing cost

A new-customer promotion may make switching look less expensive for one period. Include introductory and renewal amounts, new consultations and one-time fees in the comparison. Ask whether the new service includes the support you need, then use a complete written quote rather than a headline discount to compare budgets.
