Our take

Calibrate is worth considering if you want a structured coaching program alongside medication access and insurance navigation. The three-month minimum and limited money-back terms deserve as much attention as the monthly price.

Reasons to look closer

  • Clear initial minimum commitment
  • Video coaching alongside clinical care
  • Published cancellation and guarantee terms

Keep in mind

The advertised money-back promise has conditions and is not a full refund of treatment expenses.

The initial purchase is a three-month commitment

Calibrate lists $199 per month with a required first three months, totaling $597 in monthly installments. Lab tests and prescriptions are excluded. We show both the installment and the minimum obligation because they answer different questions: cash due each month and what you initially commit to pay. When comparing against a flexible care membership, use the full commitment as well as the price. A similar monthly number does not establish similar financial flexibility.

Consider the coaching format before the price

The program describes individual coaching, a curriculum, clinician access, and tracking tools. Its process includes blood work and a clinical visit before the treatment plan is established. We would assess whether you want that structured format and can make time for it. A program with coaching is not automatically more valuable to every reader; its usefulness depends on participation and personal preferences. We have not attended sessions or tested the support service.

Insurance navigation does not fix the total cost

The pricing page separates medication copays and lab costs from membership. Its low-copay language is qualified by insurance and deductibles. Our advice is to ask for the complete expected out-of-pocket amount and what happens if the insurer refuses coverage. Do not treat an optimistic copay example as a guaranteed addition to the care fee. The same membership could lead to materially different budgets for two readers with different benefits, prescription choices, or pharmacy arrangements.

Understand the cancellation window

Calibrate’s FAQ allows a refund request within 72 hours of purchase and says clinical ineligibility waives the initial commitment. Otherwise it generally describes the program as nonrefundable, with cancellation available after the first three months and seven calendar days’ notice before the next cycle. Keep those dates with your enrollment receipt. Our view is that a decision made after the introductory window may have a different financial outcome even before much of the program has been used.

Read the money-back promise as a conditional policy

The published promise concerns a possible 50% refund of paid membership fees after 12 consecutive months if its weight-loss threshold and participation conditions are met. Medication, labs, and third-party charges are excluded. Eligibility restrictions include prior prescription weight-loss medication use. We would ask Calibrate to confirm eligibility before assigning the promise any value in a purchasing decision. It is not evidence that you personally will achieve a result, and it does not make the total treatment cost risk-free.
